TITANITE   Frechette Quarry, Albany, NH
0.75 mm crystal

Species:           TITANITE
Locality:         Frechette Quarry, Albany, NH
Specimen Size: 0.75 mm crystal
Field Collected: Jim Parella approx 1990
Catalog No.: u2294
Notes: Jim reported this was a "one-time-find". Other collectors that followed came up empty. Micro blue titanite crystals have also been found at the Government Pit in Albany.
EDS analyses showed a moderate amount of aluminum. The Webmineral.com analysis indicates aluminum is a common impurity in titanite. Most analyses that I [tm] have done of NH titanite have included a bit of aluminum.
