Species: SILVER - wire with quartz crystal Locality: Mascot Mine, Gorham, NH Specimen Size: 2 mm field of view - estimate Field Collected: Bob Wilken - Oct., 2019 Catalog No.: A Matt Butler specimen and photo Notes: |

Species: APATITE-(CaOH) Locality: Ellacoya Locale, Gilford, NH Specimen Size: 1.2 mm clear apatite crystal with internal reflections Field Collected: Tom Mortimer Catalog No.: u606 Notes: A polished grain EDS analysis indicated the hydroxylapatite species. No fluorine was detected by detector with good light element sensitivity down to carbon. The large peak in the plot at 277 eV is due to the carbon coating of the specimen block. |

Species: PYRITE Locality: Pike Hooksett Quarry, Hooksett, NH Specimen Size: 1.8 mm pyrite crystal cluster on quartz crystals Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 10/19 MMNE field trip Catalog No.: u2260 Notes: |

Species: GALENA Locality: Shelburne Lead Mine, Shelburne, NH Specimen Size: 0.7 mm cluster of octhedral galena crystals Field Collected: Bob Janules Catalog No.: A Bob Janules specimen Notes: The nicest NH micro galena specimen I have seen. Photo from a stack of 42 images processed with Helicon Focus method C. |

Species: GALENA Locality: Shelburne Lead Mine, Shelburne, NH Specimen Size: 0.4 mm octhedral galena crystals on scallop habit siderite Field Collected: Bob Janules Catalog No.: A Bob Janules specimen Notes: The nicest NH micro galena specimen I have seen. Photo from a stack of 34 images processed with Helicon Focus method C. |

Species: ACTINOLITE Locality: Ellacoya Locale, Gilford, NH Specimen Size: 1.2 mm field of view Field Collected: Tom Mortimer Catalog No.: u2256 Notes: A polished grain EDS analysis (BC257) indicated actinolite. The APFU calculated from this analysis is Ca2(Mg2.1,Fe1.77,Al0.22)Si7.7O16.2 normalized for 2 Ca. The trace of neon is a bogie. From analysis Mg/(Mg+Fe) = 0.55. This ratio must be less than 0.5 for ferroactinolite. So this is close to ferroactinolite. |

Species: URANINITE Locality: Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH Specimen Size: 3 mm co-joined uraninite crystal pair Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 8/19 Catalog No.: No matrix crysal became micromount on post. Notes: This crystal pair popped off the matrix when I attempted to trim the two inch specimen down. I was able to mount one of these crystals (plus another that was behind this group) onto toothpick posts. True micromounts. |

Species: URANINITE Locality: Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH Specimen Size: 2.2 mm uraninite crystal on toothpick post. Two photos - different Canon lens combinations. Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 8/19 Catalog No.: u2257 Notes: |

Species: ZIRCON Locality: Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH Specimen Size: 3 mm field of view Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 8/19 Catalog No.: u2261 Notes: Smaller, crude octahedron, zircon crystal in lower left. These zircons are not fluorescent. |

Species: TORBERNITE Locality: Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH Specimen Size: 0.2 mm crystal (Tiny !) Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 8/19 Catalog No.: u2262 Notes: |

Species: APATITE Locality: Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH Specimen Size: 3 mm crystal in albite vug Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 8/19 Catalog No.: u2258 Notes: "C" axis termination points to 2 o'clock. Fluoresces pale orange-yellow. Apatite is uncommon at Charles Davis and is not listed for Charles Davis on mindat. I think this is first I have seen from there, (and not a particularly good one by NH standards). For those reasons, I thought worthy of a photo. |
